Advanced Leadership Institute III
2009 – 2010 Session Schedule


Session I: June 24-25 - Introduction to the Advanced Leadership Training Program: Sharing the Vision

An overview of the program will be provided and the context for the emergence of a new paradigm of leadership discussed.  The model of Integrated Leadership will be introduced and applied to challenges in south Wood County communities. 

 

Session II: September 23-24 - The Leadership Difference: Partnership and Collaboration

Participants will identify those individuals and organizations needed to accomplish the vision, goals, and objectives identified.  Key skills of collaboration will be introduced and a plan for developing cohesive community support begun. 

 

Session III: October 14-15 - Adaptive Leadership Skills:  Learning to Lead and Manage Change

Participants will be introduced to systems thinking, models for planning and leading change, and tools for managing and resolving conflict. 

 

Session IV: November 11-12 - Leadership in Action:  Planning to Make a Difference

This session will address the issues of power & decision-making and assess their capacity to influence.  Participants will provide updates on their Trusteeship Plan of Action. 

 

Session V: January 27-28 - The Power of Communication:  Creating Meaning

The latest research on communication will be provided to participants and the skills required to present a clear and compelling case for action on adaptation issues introduced.

 

Session VI: March 10-11 - Celebration of Leadership:  Making the Connections

This session will offer opportunities for participants to report on and to celebrate their progress to date and their future plans to use their learning in their communities.  An inspiring keynoter of repute will speak at a dinner where the participants in the Advanced Leadership Institute would be honored.  The ALI alumni participants will be invited.
