Advanced Leadership Institute (ALI) began in 2006 with support from the Ford Foundation through the Community Progress Initiative.  Now in its third year, Community Foundation of Greater South Wood County administers all ALI programming such as ALI III, Train the Trainer, and ALI Alumni continuing education, with support from the Ford Foundation. Ki ThoughtBridge provides the training.

Vision:  To be recognized as an innovative culture that support diverse and inclusive communities committed to the environment, sustainable business and educational progress.  Its mission is to advance the leadership in our region to realize this vision.

Graduates from the south Wood County and Town of Rome area are now working on a number of community projects such as:

• Municipal collaboration

• Speak Your Peace civility project

• Green eco-living

• Recreation trails

• Community environment- Downtown development

• Addressing the 'gap' in student skill sets when seeking post-secondary education

• Technology delivery
